PBHCI Wellness ProgramPrimary and Behavioral Health Care Integration Program
Petersburg Mental Health and Alaska Island Community Services are excited to announce a new wellness program. This program is intended to help enrollees improve their overall wellness and physical health. Enrollees in the program will receive assistance in accessing primary care services, and will have access to wellness education and support services. The primary goal is to assist clients with receiving all of the help they need to be healthy and achieve an improved level of wellness. How Does It Work? Program enrollees will participate in regular appointments with their wellness coordinator and will see a primary care provider regularly. The wellness coordinator will help schedule primary care appointments that are specific to each client's unique health care needs. Why Focus On Wellness? Focusing on wellness, individuals work toward good health accompanied by quality of life and well-being. Wellness is a dynamic process. Individuals seeking wellness become aware of the choices they have, and then make decisions that move them toward a more successful life. 1. Because wellness is a dynamic process, there are always chances for improvement. 2. Being aware means continually looking for more information on how to improve. 3. Having choices means considering the options and selecting the option in your best interest. 4. Individuals choose what a successful life looks like for them based on the life they have and want.
