Job Description: PMHS is seeking a masters-level professional to join our small, dedicated team. We are especially successful with providing skilled new graduates licensed supervision and varied clinical experiences to launch their new careers as competent professionals. We offer a breadth of clinical experience. We are looking for a clinician who has a working knowledge of substance use disorders, who is eager to creatively engage with children, teens, and adults in their home and community, and who enjoys the challenge of responding to “whatever walks through the door.” The main focus of this position will involve working closely with our local medical staff and other agencies about care to our severely mentally ill population. There will also be some time for a clinical caseload. Applicants need to be organized and capable of following through with implementation of a specific grant project for the SMI population. They need to work positively and proactively with the medical professionals in the community to achieve the project's objectives. PMHS is a nonprofit mental health and substance abuse center located on a rural Southeastern Alaskan island. Petersburg is a fishing community (ranked 9th in the nation in volume of fish product). Residents are primarily of Scandinavian and Alaskan Native origins. Population: 3,100. The island is 211 square miles, with 18+ square miles of muskeg bogs.
